Altaf Hussain has dishonoured judges by calling them biased, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has remarked in its detailed verdict issued over the contempt of court notice against the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

The detailed verdict was issued with signatures of a judicial bench, including Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The court stated that Altaf Hussain used hostile and humiliating language against judges of the superior judiciary during his recent public address, adding that this act "comes under the category of contempt of court".

On December 14, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry, issued a contempt of court notice to Altaf Hussain and ordered him to appear personally before the apex court on January 7 and submit a reply.
